Extra Care Support Worker - New Forest
Full-time | From £11.46 to £15.75 per hour
Social Care in Action is currently supporting people in our Extra Care Schemes, delivering compassionate, person-centred care that truly makes a difference.
As an Extra Care Support Worker you will be flexible to cover available shifts across 4 Extra Care Schemes: 2 in New Milton, 1 in Lymington, and 1 in Totton.
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred (mileage included).
Shifts for Days: 07:00 to 14:00 and 16:00-21:00.
Long day shifts available with a break.
Shifts for Waking Nights 21:00 to 07:00.
About You

- Experience in care or support work is beneficial, but training will be provided.
- Compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing high-quality care.
- Ability to work flexibly across the locations above, including evenings and every other weekend.

About the role
Our Extra Care Schemes support individuals to remain in their own homes with person centred care to enable them to live as independently as possible whilst taking into account their choices and respecting their human rights. SCA Care works closely with other agencies including CQC, adult services, local GP practices and the local community.

Our Extra Care Schemes are developments that comprise of self-contained homes and SCA Care provide support to tenants to enable self-care and independent living.

A Support Worker's role can be wide and varied – no two days are the same – but here’s an idea of what you could be doing:
Promoting and encouraging independence, whilst assisting the people we support with their daily routines.
Identifying new opportunities for integration, participation and inclusion, available to the people we support, both within our services and the community.
Providing quality personal care, which could include bathing etc. depending on individual needs, while maintaining respect and sensitivity.
Participating in household tasks, which include cleaning, cooking, ironing, washing etc. while encouraging the people we support to join in.
Engaging in conversation and sometimes having a belly laugh together over something silly!
